Overcast and cold here in in Geraldine with light rain falling for most of the day.

Ooops posted in wrong thread - Swanson now - tons of lightening, hail, near constant thunder and some big gusts (wx station shows a 66 kph gust @ 6:59pm)

The lightning was frequent over West Auckland,not so much over Mt Eden. Took this photo of a lightning Cg west of here.

Seems to be the usual situation over Auckland currently, once the cells move off the sea they weaken rapidly. Only saw 3 or 4 distant lightning flashes from here over the course of about 20 mins, intermittent rain showers

Had a clear view of that one from my house not far away, with big crack of thunder almost immediately. Amazing storm, that one. A flash every 3-4 seconds!

Impressive pressure spike over Auckland earlier today, not sure I've seen anything like this before:
12.55pm - 999.8 hPa
1.00pm - 996.8 hPa
1.05pm - 999.0 hPa
That's a 3 hPa dip over 5 minutes, with no associated rain or wind activity at the time

another rumble just now. is this gonna last all night like December last year. storms are forecasted tommorow as well.

I had a 1.7 mb hPa dip at 12:34 - 12:39pm, the only thing I can see was the wind swung from NW to W
