1861-2011 happy birthday ITALY!

today (March 17th) Italy is marking the 150th anniversary of its unification...Although Italy's language and culture go back many hundreds of years, the country only became a nation state in 1861.

like many kiwis at the moment ya look at old buildings like those and think "wonder they that would go in a earthquake"??

yes, some of them are 2000 years old...they have withstood the weather, the earthquakes (not so strong fortunately) for so many years...romans built them very well :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
