If we can get more easterlies then thats going to be a mild scenario for Auckland. Its the SW wind that gives Auckland temperatures a hit in spring.

With Rugby World Cup on in Sep/Oct a more gentle spring across NZ would be good.

Well sock it to the world with constant SW here and showcase our weather to the world but on the otherhand places like Nelson Nnapier etc will show it looks good :lol:

Auckland southwester would provide good Rugby weather, cool and dry.

I'd be more than happy for the westerlies to return properly. This La Nina has not been particularly kind here at all - nothing like 1988/89 - higher than normal rainfall last year and this year to date, and lower sunshine for both of these periods as well. Quite disappointing.
