Unnatural looking storm cloud??
Incredible photograph, but for some reason the formation looks unatural?
Looking forward to comments.

Re: Unatural looking storm cloud??
foggy has pictures where the top of the CB looks like that
i.e it has collapsed at one point, leaving behind the cirrus layer
and then is regenerating
also the lens on the camera must be slightly fish eye?

Re: Unnatural looking storm cloud??
Looks to me like this photo has had some photoshop but a nice Cb photo. The high plains of America/North America ooccasionally have a general absence of low cloud on thunderstorm afternoons/evenings so a great place to observe storm development/structure and lightning.

Yup agree with Spwill, looks like it has been touched with photoshop but it seems a natural CB that I think is quite typical of a US thunderstorm.

Imagine if a thunderstorm developed over ChCh after the recent snow and earthquakes, with that sort of cloud, I think people would leave the city in droves
