Yes, the ski season came good :D . In a normal season there would have been no thread, it was the no snow show in May /June that sparked the interest.

A member of this household was skiing at Mt Hutt today and is descending the access road as I type: they texted this unsolicited observation: "Despite the recent snowfall, all the times I've been here I've never seen so little snow. Like the whole road is clear, and the cars raise dust as they go."

interesting :-k after such a big fall you would think that like in past years, chains would still normally be needed to be used during this time of year?? but i suppose its been an amasingly warm week or so since that fall.

Yes its pretty much the same on Mt Dobson and Fox peak. Wind and warm tempertures have removed a lot of the snow that fell last week. Its by far the worst ski season ive seen in the 4 years I have lived here and according the locals its even worst than 2005 which was also very bad. Even if plently of snow does fall in September Its going to be to warm for it to last long.
