How did the bird(s) get in? there must be a large hole on the screen.

Yes, my screen needs some work to be done to it.
They would of got in by the right hand side where some of the louvered pieces have fallen out.

Bloody starlings The problem with that variety of bird is they will always want the nest in the same spot each year.Heard of a cocky not far from here who one morning had to clean out his tractor of nests only to have the buggers chasing him around the paddock while he was ploughing.
A bit of fine chicken netting over ya stevenson's screen should stop them, wonder if all the straw effected the temperature readings John?

No it didn't RichardRichard wrote:Bloody starlings ,wonder if all the straw effected the temperature readings John?
I must check the Screen more often. I had to replace the battery in my sensor.
As you can see I have a back-up with a cheap Six's thermometer from Mitre 10
I had to move my screen to mow underneath.

Why did you put a fake bird in there?
yup starlings are a pest. have seen so many tractors catch fire because of them.
driving down the road at this time of year nearly every single parked up tractor will have its bonnet up to stop them nesting under it.

The resident bird was out so I put the fake bird there to make it a bit authentic
Interesting, don't get many Starlings around here, Blackbirds, yes, but then it could of been the odd Starling around that said "Hey, What a good place to build a nest"
