Possible thunder North Island - Feb 28
Have got some great towering cu at the moment here. Something I noticed is the different direction the clouds are moving. Low clouds are moving to the south. Upper level clouds are moving NE. So some good twisting motion in the atmosphere today? Looking really good now. In the time I've written this a tcu had just really exploded.

If we start getting showers now, its not really a good sign as it could stop a good sfc temp in the early evening.....

Dry in the city today, but home in Howick things are damp after 3.6mm rain around 2pm. Apparently there was quite a loud rumble of thunder too.
PS my data flat-lined at 9.18am today so my website wasn't of much use, it's all fixed now.

What a yuck afternoon, rain and structureless cloud with the odd rumble of thunder in the afternoon.
I would have thought it would have been a more isolated look to the storms but it seems they look more embedded than anything else.

About 5 claps of thunder heard, nothing worth getting of my seat for as they were a reasonable distance away and quite large time periods between. Sadly a bust in my opinion.
