Yet another ruined week ahead 20-25th

Unread post by Willoughby »

With the Summer Solstice just ahead on the 22nd, the weather hasn't been as crap all year with very heavy rain is expected for northern districts on tuesday morning (around 23mm in Auckland alone) Followed by squally showers and thunderstorms and then disturbed westerlies effecting most of New Zealand. A high should move in on the North Island clearing showers on xmas day with rain developing in the south...

When will it end

Met Service have forecast Moderate chance of thunderstorms in Canterbury,Nelson, and Taranaki to Northland for Tuesday.
Looks like 10-20mm an hour in Canterbury with 5-15mm in diamter of hail and 5-10mm in diamter for Nelson heavy rains possably might be accompanied by thunderstorms over the top of NI.
And although it's not on Met Service thunderstorm/ convection warnigs yet Wednesday looks like TS in forecast for Canterbury north to Nelson and the north of the north island.
Hmm two days in a row wouldn't mind that early xmas pressie lol.
Cheers
JASON TIPPET.

Looks like the week after Christmas , well 'twixt Christmas may be ruined as well...by boring weather - YAWN.
I have no thunderstorm perdictions out like I did for this week as I cannot find any stimulant in the forecoming weather :-({|=
Have to watch the MetService Thunderstorm/Severe Weather in the meanwhilst :)

There's a world above 300m!!! The cloud has lifted (only to about 500m)and there's none of that wet stuff falling. Not much rain, but just always about.

More coming though... Hope Santa has his Swandri

Bucketing down in central Chch for about the last 20 minutes. We had another heavy shower overnight. I'm flying up to Auckland this afternoon (for a few weeks) - probably similar weather up there, but no doubt warmer than the 11c we have here.
