I've been out at Muriwai Beach from late Xmas Eve - yes Xmas day was still mostly cloudy with showers at first, but it's certainly been warmer than Chch. (about 18-19C instead of 13-15C maximums) Though probably still cooler than what Aucklanders would normally expect for time of year.

Cheers Graeme, however the photo's look much better before they pass through Photoshop especially the storm photo's, I've obviously got more to learn.

Stormchaser, My Camera is a Canon EOS 300 Digital.

Cloudy weather has arrived here now on a fresh NE wind, now 19c and the dewpoints have come up to around 15C so slightly muggy.

Gidday Guys,

hey Graham, I concur with your readings regarding temp today...the farm WX recorded 27.9C at 1327 today!! Great to have some haet hitting the ground. Our pasture growth meter has recorded significant DM growth in the last 4 days....so finally getting some spring temps!

What rain have you recorded down in Waimauku for the month? we have recorded a well needed 85.4mm to date for DEC04.... be interested to compare readings... :D

Best regards guys, and all the best for 2K5.... :D

86.3mm so far this month. Interesting to see 'Renald's Hill' is still very green, while the hills to the north of Ararimu valley are really going brown!

Cheers,

Interesting that our highest temp for the day should come at 10pm at night! 18C. 18.5C now and still rising! (that measurement recorded at 10:44pm, weird :? ). Although that's a Templeton, Jeffs in Hilmorton is only on 15.8 now but still it's quite a good temp for a NE now. Dewpoint 12 aswell.

Up a bit late but thought I'd post this.

Feels really odd outside now (nice and warm at 2:41am), and it's getting warmer! Now 20 at Templeton and 18 at Jeffs in Hilmorton, that's weird. And from a NE!!....It must be coming from way up north, not a local breeze but it must be like an air mass form the N....something like that.
