A bit milder here this morning, only down to minus 1 in the screen.
Cool Ene developing this afternoon with temperature only hovering around the 9C mark.
Not much difference now, 8.2C some stars above and a NE breeze.
I wonder if next week's cold snap will be another fizzer like all the others?

No frost here this morning, at 8am it was about 7C with a NE wind gusting to 27km/h. At the intersection of Annex and Blenheim roads which is 3km in a streight line from here it was 3C (according to the temp display on the corner) with virtually no wind. A couple of k's further up the road there was frost on the ground.
I was surprised how the NE wind which had been blowing consistently averaging about 13km/h all night at home was a very local event.
Minus 1.8C at 6am at the airport this morning.

Its like here in Auckland (Manurewa)We get the SW wind often stronger and with "wind tunnel" weather than most areas do in any SSW-SW or W flow here.
We had a good NE here today gusty at times and the drops away but its nowhere like the continuous "wind tunnel effect" of a sou' wester

No sign of frost in central Christchurch this morning - strange to hear of frosts in some other parts of the city. We got abit of rain today, but probably nothing really measurable in a rain gauge. Relatively mild (about 9.5C) as I write - less likelihood of a frost tonight.

Its currently 10.1C in Auckland and that feels cold.
I took thisphotot near Invercargill many years ago. A wintry cb on a day of hail and sleet with air temps of only 3 or 4C. Cumulonimbus mammatus.

It only got down to minus 3.8C here this morning and I was surprised at that, I thought it may have been lower than that when the sky cleared from early this morning and the snow became hard and icy. I see the airport only got zero.
