Could i get some help here please?
Im i want to go up north to Tutukaka cost but the weather doesnt look all that promising so im beginning to think i should head south to Lake Taupo.
It looks like its going to be a bit of anticyclonic gloom going on up north with strong easterlies.
what are peoples picks for the weather up north for the long weekend

I agree Jamie, weather doesn't look good for eastern Northland but very good for Taupo.
Best weather this weekend will be inland South Island where 30C temperature will be achieved.

I don't visit the Tutukaka Coast on an easterly ( catches the crap) but with the next tropical cyclone that comes our way I just might .

I used to go to whangaumu bay just up the road a bit further than the pacific rendezvous every year for summer holidays though my school days. I looked at staying there this time but they are booked up for most of the weekend and the weather just doesnt look right for the trip up.
Think ill take the Kuratau option at Lake Taupo.
