Interesting storm motion on this. It's moved much more east rather than SE like previously on earlier scans.

Looks like it may have died... why do nearly all the Tasman thunderstorms seem to die on landfall... :-k

Very heavy rain for last 20 mins here. Would love to know Te Atatu and Henderson totals.

Thanks. I first started taking pics from Mt Eden but decided I had to get much closer to the action so drove over to Lynfield. Awesome IC lightning show.

Nice fork and intercloud lightning was seen while driving back from Henderson, West Wave towards Titirangi. Time was about 2020 hrs.
Some strikes lasted almost one to two seconds !
Then went for a little storm chase from Titirangi via Green Bay, Block house bay to Lynnfield. The rain increased and the lightning slowly became less and less at about 2140 hrs.
