Brief torrential rain here, 8mm fell in 10 minutes. Heaviest I have seen in a long time! Heard a few rumbles of thunder but nothing especially loud.

Took a couple of pics of surface flooding (not the best). Has passed over now. Seen a few fire engines and trucks out trying to clear gutters as the wind has removed numerous amounts of leaves also. 13mm in 20mins with 8.5mm in 10mins. Had some thunder and lightening accompanying it.

Good torrential rain here too as i mentioned earlier still getting the odd heavy bout of rain at the moment but the majority has passed now, drains/soak pits couldnt cope so the lawns are flooded.
I think thats even beats the heavy rain we had a week or so ago with that low, whats interesting though is we didnt get those big winds here the southerly did arrive but alot later and only about 30kmh.
It has since dropped back to no wind, no thunder or lightning here but looking at the radars theres some intense cells developing along the foothills behind Sefton northwards.
Richard heads up its coming your way.

Can't say I expected those storms the way that happened. We hade 1020 hpa, and while one needs to take other things into consideration it doesn't usually mean stormy weather is on the way with a pressure like that, at this time of year anyway.....

But still, was interesting to see! Roll on Saturday night and perhaps something then :)

Good on you Jase for pointing out today as a possibility and next Saturday too!

Cheers
