you can see the rotation of the center on the www.metservice.com rain radar
as it passed to my south, it was neat to see the spiraling rain band...it was coming towards me, then rotated around and moved south around the low center, just before the rain band hit here
sort of thing

Hmm, it appears that WeatherZone distort their radar-images, i.e. compress a square radar-overlay to fit a distorted rectangular map. The result (at least in this case) being some loss of position accuracy.
So below I've placed their pre-compressed 2:15pm overlay onto a regular google-map relative to where MetService had it. Seems to be a much better match...
