What was your max today, Phil?
19.6C for the high, so we are correct there but definitely not "currently 25C", especially in the city. Maybe a few degrees higher out on the Taieri Plains but I couldn't say it would be anywhere near that.

I came back from Alex today and the car thermometer (yes, I know not the most accurate... in fact the car IS white and I thought about cutting some holes in the body so it's like a giant Stevenson's Screen ;), but it does give me a rough idea) started at 25 in Alex and held that up into St Bathans, Ranfurly, Nasby, through Middlemarch and then dropped to about 22C just before dropping down to Outram (20C) and then home which was 18C
There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.

Car thermometers are great, just take a couple of degrees off during the day and voila! It is interesting to see the temperature decline rapidly as you go up mountains ;)

26.2c at 11.00am  Humidity around 45%
Slight SE 'erly fohn coming off the Mamaku and Gisborne ranges.

This may well be the height of Summer as temperatures start to decline after the first week of February.

SE Australia is in for a mighty cool change. Melbourne up to 35c on Tuesday, only up to 16c on Wednesday ;)

Rather warm out here in North Canty under an area of blue sky inbetween the higher cloud.
Noticed that cloud you are talking about there Aaron and also noticed some other forms of shower cloud but only around where the blue sky areas are this could be due to heating.
Funi enough I have beaten the expected high of 22dg today already and according to my thermometer which has now been moved to the best spot around my house it's reading at 25C at 11:30am.
It's also W-SW winds here but very light if the Westerly wind kicks in there may be some heat and 27-29dg could be a liklyhood today.
It would also push the evening lower cloud and predicted drizzle away from Pegausus bay.
Cheers
JASON TIPPET.

Dewpoints of 17c or 18C here now and that humid air should be into Hamilton soon foggy.

Low cloud and very warm, 26C, can see light showers out to the East.

At present, 29c, 40% humidity, mostly cloudy, light SE breeze. :D

I can see a large cumulus buildup out to the distant south, in the direction of western Waikato. Slight chance it may develop into a cb. :)

Temperature upto 28C in Ak this afternoon.

It's come out nice and sunny here. 23 degrees, 16 degree dewpoint. Perhaps we'll crack a 17 degree dewpoint today! I'm feeling the humidity. It was cloudy this morning but it's broken up, still some puffs around though over B'sP.

You guy's up in Auckland will be feeling like an Australian climate! 27 degrees with a 20/21 degree dewpoint, pheww...

A hot day over much of NZ. 8)

Fresh NE wind here with some low cloud and muggy. Drizzle early.

Despite the high temps and dewpoints today it looks like very little in the way of afternoon shower development has occurred.

..and is still closed. Enough moisture and air taking the round trip to give low mist and drizzle. Yet with just a light change toward NE we could have unusually high day temps and sunshine.
