Good steady rain here now, heavier than it was at any point yesterday.

light rain hitting the window;

Good band over Canterbury now, although the heavy stuff just wont push into the city at all. Its just a steady light rain at times. Wonder whats sheltering or causing that when the bands are NW to SE and SW to NE. BP cant be having an effect..17mm for event to date

Currently 9 degrees and light rain in springs junction Lewis Pass at 850m was 7 degrees and no sign of snow

Rain mixed with fat sleet drops here on the coast in Kaiapoi but 6.8C still dropping as i type this, cold southerly winds.
I would say its definatly snowing against the foothills and wouldnt surprise me if its snowing in Oxford about now.

2.6C in Waddington but no snow, I wonder why that could be? It was snowing in Christchurch last week at 4C!!

Looks like more as the low brings an easterly over the top though should clear tomorrow.
