Polar Blast 19th to 21st June - Reports/Discussion
I thought I would start up a thread for the actual Polar Blast 19th to 21st June, as to relieve the other thread which should be labelled "The Lead up and Scenarios Possible to the Polar Blast 19th to 21st June" , if this weather event is to become a substantial event for winter this year in New Zealand.

Light rain now.
The cloud cover is thickening and seems to me to have that faint yellowish-pinkish tinge that can happen under Certain Circumstances.
5.2 degrees.

Still borderline whether we will get snow here at 100m asl. Heaviest snow will probably be north of Ashburton anyway.
Currently 5 degrees and raining.

Would people stop taking each model run at face value….. It has always been best to "blend" multiple forecast runs to avoid forecast flip flops that way you can get a more stable trend of whats forecast to happen.
Either way you look at it, significant snow is likely to fall over the the east and the south of the South Island.
