For some reason as of yesterday afternoon i have been getting periods of flat lining data. Not just on data from the ISS but even barometer and inside temp, so to me it is a connection problem from the console to the computer, but what is the cause?
Any help or anyone had this before?
Thanks in advance

Have a look at the cable.... any niks or slight cuts in the cable? You might also want to check out the cable that is supplying power to the console.jamie wrote:For some reason as of yesterday afternoon i have been getting periods of flat lining data. Is the console still on when the data flatlines? Is the X still blinking in the bottom right hand corner of the screen?
Failing this I think you should upgrade your firmware of the console...... Grab the date of when your console was manufactured (the sticker on the back of the console), from what I can remember its around 2006.
There are 2 versions.... v3.12 and v1.92, only upgrade to v3.12 if the ISS has been manufactured post 2006 when they introduced digital temp/hum sensors.
Has the ISS circuit board been changed when you have taken the station into Davis NZ?
You should be able to upgrade your firmware to v1.92 at least.
Firmware fixes can usually fix these types of problems....

Thanks Tim. Yea all cables are fine. I haven't seen the concole while its flat lining yet. Waiting for the chance to catch it.
I Could do the firmware but I'm not sure this is the underlying problem. I restarted everything so will keep an eye on it today.

placing tin foil over a USB connection at the PC end can be a good tip
(helps to prevent electrical interference -> USB drop outs)
