Re: General April Weather
Sudden change from mild and dry to cold and windy in Akaroa about 3.30pm, with showers coming in with the change. (felt like a bit of hail initially in big raindrops) Wind gusts up to gale force.

Re: General April Weather
We've just had a tiny hail/kind of snow shower come over in Hornby. The radar shows that its isolated. How strange.

Re: General April Weather
A fairly warm April overall, albeit mostly cloudy apart from the north and east of the North Island. Very wet in some western areas and South Canterbury, but notably dry in the Far North, Gisborne and North Canterbury…
Some very preliminary April 2015 figures for the main centres:
Also of note was Hawera's 271mm, of which 152mm fell on the 8th and 9th.
