Weather turning unsettled
Last week the whole country had sunshine but this coming week looks quite unsettled. And interestingly the latest ECMWF model is suggesting a big snow fall (to low levels) possible in Canterbury later in the week.

Showers seem to have turned to persistent rain now Brian, so you won't like that. Yes, quite unstable air today but the cb's in the Auckland area looked weakish....more intense punchy clouds visiable to the north though.
Cumulonimbus with multi-pulse structure but this cloud rather weak and tops to around 8000m. Photo taken this morning at Coatesville just north of Auckland.
The underside of a large anvil that came off a cb well out to the NW.
A sign here that there was strong convection about.
