Yea you got more than me or the Hamilton AWS out of this. Seems the more north you are the more rain you got :)
Although Hamilton AWS got more of the showers than here today at 14.8 compared to 5.2mm here.
My MTD so far is 31.4mm compared with Hamilton AWS at 35.6mm.

investigated ground zero of that big lightning strike near here
3 fence posts in a row on a fence line were hit....splinttering the tops apart (wood was thrown like 5m away)
and each fence post had a black scorch mark down the center :)

Interesting reports Brian,

The modified 6pm gfs sounding for the area on the day had CAPE at 1000j/kg, bulk shear 55knots. Both healthy numbers!

more reports :
of a row of trees blown over on the harbour side and power lines down ...could have been a tornado.....that would have tracked as waterspout over the harbour...which would have given the very heavy rain event to Clarkes Beach?
certainly was a NE surface wind that changed to a NNW behind the cell
and the video from the Waikakere ranges shows a developing wall cloud and Spwill photos showed hallmarks of corkscrew rotation in the whole cell :)

Interesting! Were the downed trees and power-lines at Grahams Beach? And any idea exactly what time the power went off? I could match it with radar-images around that time.

Hi
the area affected by these strong winds was just south of Grahams beach
I really need to go and investigate the damage

Ok. Here's a close-up of the Ak radar around that time…

there could be a bit of a meso hook there in that rain radar image..at the time of that image it was just moving into the top of the harbour, that hook
