Snowing in Texas

Unread post by NZstorm »

I only make mention of this as I will be there in 3weeks time........snowing in the Texas Panhandle. Amarillo should be getting 75F early May but has 32F with snow instead.

We had a cold crappy December here last year. Seems northern hemisphere is experiencing a similar start to their summer.

hummm, hopefully that means a volatile spring for more tornadoes when you get there?
but it is 30oC in Germany at the moment, they were going for some records...
so there is always balances and checks....

NZstorm, I dont think you will be making Snowmen  when we get onto that Texas Panhandle in a few weeks time. Warm Gulf air looks like it will spread over that area later in the week.

The very cold air can produce volatile weather eg Tornados but high dew point Gulf air needs gets in ahead of it.

Yes, Europe is hot for early May. Just noticed that in the Herald. Paris 29C.

Spwill...correct about the Gulf moisture. That is the driver for severe weather on the plains and they have been lacking that in April but it should be back to a more normal pattern by mid May. (fingers crossed). :D

The only video I have is the one on the digital camera. I am still using the Canon G5, though might consider upgrading in the USA because cameras are a lot cheaper over there. I have just purchased a laptop for the trip. :D depart May 20.
