Storms Possible - 24 September
Had a funeral today so missed out on the chase. But was able to see the storms and hear thunder.

Re: Storms Possible - 24 September
I went down to North Waikato late afternoon, got a thunderstorm at Merimeri and another at Waiuku on the way home. There looked to be quite a bit of thunderstorm activity along the western coastline of North Waikato.
Saw some nice lightning today and pea size hail in both storms.

Re: Storms Possible - 24 September
It was interesting how Auckland had a fine afternoon, the storms only got as far north as Waiuku.
The storm had some nice linear structure as it approached Waiuku with a good scud bomb as well.

Photo showing the linear appearance of the Waiuku storm. A warmed NE breeze off Auckland keep it going as it came north.
