Re: Frosts 2017
Min of -0.5C in Howick, the second lowest in my records. Was heading down towards -1 but some unexpected wind pushed it back up

Most of Auckland got a frost this morning. You had to be right on the beach or in CBD to escape a freeze.

At Orewa Beach, across the road from the sea: white frost on car roofs this morning, light rime on grass in spots.

Yes, the air mass is dry and skies clear. Weather back to normal on Tuesday.David wrote:Should be similar tonight, would you agree?NZstorm wrote:Most of Auckland got a frost this morning. You had to be right on the beach or in CBD to escape a freeze.

I'm very surprised that the Plains have had lower temps than this inland valley this morning.

Gusty strong nor Easter through here at present. Will it hang around to keep the frost at bay?

Re: Frosts 2017
No frost here today not even close, only dropped to +3.8. Amazingly Chch Aero 6 degree colder, just 10km from here as the crow flies. There's the impact of the breeze off the sea.

Frosty earlier this morning, dropping down to minus 5.1C but warming up to 3C for most of the morning under thickening high NW cloud.

My Silverdale Spy reports another frost there this morning. No frost that I could discern near the beach at Orewa.
