Canterbury Thunderstorms 3 to 5th December

Unread post by NZ Thunderstorm Soc »

Might be thunder around here for the next few days once this 'clagg' clears :-k
Here's a photo of Mt. Peel 'erupting', taken a year ago, to start things off

Shouldn't this thread include other parts of NZ over the next couple of days too

Possibly as well, but it seems that we have been missing out owing to the 'clagg' and low cloud over the last week or so?...especially since the thunderstorm that brought the tornado to the north of Ashburton on 18th of November.

Maybe we make the thread Thunderstorms 3 to 5th December otherwise we end up in the December general weather thread and buried

Good idea, then, why not December Thunderstorms in general and put the whole lot into one single thread for the month?
Moderators, could you sort this out.
My thought was for the Canterbury thunderstorm potential would be an ideal subject for Canterbury thunderstorms as it is looking likely to be an interesting summer for us here which would lead to an individual topic but now I'm thinking, judging by the events in the last few days, and the comments I'm getting, it maybe a seperate topic might be needed, especially today with Thunder081 photos, etc clogging up the General December Weather topic, as now we are into page three, and today it is only the 2nd day of December. :-k

I think Saturday & Sundays posts should be moved here, name changed to include the rest of NZ and make it 1- 5th. Otherwise it just gets a bit messy when there is more than one thread on the one day

What ever happened to creating separate threads for individual events?

Agree with Richard. I've moved the weekend's T-storm posts to a separate, more widespread T-storm thread for the period Dec 1-5.

However, I don't think including the posts from this thread, which is essentially just a thread about reorganising threads, would add any value to the new thread - on the contrary, it would just make for more confusing reading. So perhaps this thread should just be retired or closed?

Might as well, Nev as the new thread should cover all events over this period.

^ Ok then, have closed this thread.

See the more 'Widespread T-storms - Dec 1-5' thread instead.
