For August the weather has been quite stable. No sign of the deep unstable westerlies this year. Hense rainfall is well below average for Auckland but they have double the average rainfall in Northland with all the easterly weather. I notice the sunshine figures given in NZ Herald for Ak are well down this month. My perception of the month though was a sunnier than normal month. I suspect there is an error with the sunshine readings at AK airport.

I only got 44.2mm for August, down a wee bit. Not looking good for the oncoming spring/summer season coming upon us, though...
