37mm here, though looks to be easing for while soon - seems to be a hole in the rain band on the radar.

Been some big wind gusts in the CBD too

Congratulations Metservice for the colouring competition entry. Nearly coloured the whole North Island and only went over the edges a few times ImageImage

I thought the opposite. I feel as tho it is squeezing tighter just off the west coast. For here it looks like we could get a decent drop tonight.

Agreed. Just like the Rakaia when Canterbury had a significant event. It's not like they plan it that way, but I find it difficult to comprehend they have to have it offline that long. Why provision for shorter outages isn't planned, so they can be online in case of a significant event, isn't factored in, it just seems illogical to me.

I recorded 39mm only about 10km East of Hamilton Airport. Will have to check the rain gauge for any obstructions as seems a little low.

I was surprised the airport got that high. I was 38mm. The manual gauge had 42mm but that wasn’t dead empty to begin with. Had the weeks of frosts dew built up in it.
