Early Hot November Weather

NE breeze kept it pleasant here today being about 2km from the coast, min 16.9C and max 22.5C.

the 7th November, with the warm night prior (and the night of the 8th was even warmer here at 15c) ended up being 5c higher than average for me (for the 24 hours), which is a record difference I have seen!

the high to the east is basicly bringing down the air mass from near Fiji now , so its little wonder

I didn’t quite get my November record. But then again it’s not even the 10th November. 26.9 today when the record is 27.3 on 28th 2010

Darn hot tho. I see Hamilton was over 28.0 at one point today when I looked.

Yeah, 28.1 was highest I saw. So will be close to the 28.3 that I think is the Nov record.

Confirmed by MS on Twitter, 28.3 yesterday at aero equalled the November record. Should win the tiebreaker by being in the first week of Nov. Been up to 26.5 again today so has exceeded the forecast high by >2C again.

29.4c at 3.20pm on Jeffs at Hoon Hay. Another cracking hot day in Christchurch average temp so far 22.5c

I see Gisborne's average daily max for the first 10 days of November is approx 25.5C, Whangarei 24C, Christchurch 23C.
It would be good to get another heat ridge soon but no sign of it in the 15 day model although we will get a lot of traditional NW flow.

the models are hinting at some point (saturday) that NW flow will originate from over north Queensland so eastern areas of both islands could get real hot again?
