Some decent hail in Timaru by the looks.

Thats one of the best radar loops ive seen of a storm, thats a supercell.
Watch that area out of mt somers could be forming a second cell that heads towards rakaia.

What is the chance of this thing fizzling out before it hits Christchurch SS? Or are the conditions favourable in Christchurch as well?Storm Struck wrote: ↑Wed 20/11/2019 13:38 Thats one of the best radar loops ive seen of a storm, thats a supercell.

Wind strengthened and gusty from the east;
thundering;
looks like some nasty cloud just to the west of here and heading north.

Looks right in the firing line on the radars, and it looks to be getting bigger!

Couldn't access Forum earlier, lost several posts.
Rain and hail roared down for a few minutes; first hailstones up to 50-cent-piece size and bouncing several feet up off lawn.
Was fearful for windows on south and then east side of house for a while.
Still raining.
