i thought the daily reports section had been taken down?

Yes, if a topic is repetitous it should be kept to the one thread.
Michael should be posting his SW'esterly posts on the one thread.
I have noticed on the weatherzone he keeps to one thread.

I agree....

Though maybe we should start over and have a D/O thread for all including Aus, in this, the general weather section. (but I guess I could just see that dominated by fudged weather reports.. OMG a southwesterly! See if I care

An Auckland/Christchurch daily surrounds forecast thread like in a WZ forums would be neat

Maybe a general chit-chat section on the understanding that all general chit-chat (including DO's) be confined to it and kept out of other threads.

As long as we don't get endless whinging. I'll be content with saying Friday was yet another fine day. Cold dry southerly this morning with more fine days to come after it's over. Probably won't quite break the local record for Aug. sunshine.

I've split these posts off from the Melbourne Weather thread as they were getting way off topic.

The idea behind the Daily Obs forum was to have a topic per day with obs from all round the country. This obviously wasn't happening so it was closed.

I have no problem with a user posting daily obs into a single topic but everyone posting into the same one will just get out of hand. I think it's OK to make an occasional comparison about an observation.

Those that don't want to read the obs reports threads don't have to. If there are enough of these threads active then I'll move them to their own forum.

If you do have an obs thread then don't post the same info in other threads unless it directly relates to the topic.

Sounds sensible enough to me.
