gosh 17 mm here heavy rain. and 2 rumbles of thunder which blitz didnt pick up. but the rumbles of thunder were loud. i enjoyed today. looks dry again next week so drought likely to continue.

Not sure about Pukekohe, but MetService's Whenuapai AWS also had 47 consecutive 'dry days' before yesterday.

Yesterday also ended a 38 day dry spell at Mangere, Auckland Aero and Albany, just 1 day shy of Whangaparaoa and Warkworth's record of 39 days set in 2013 (Feb 05 to Mar 15).

and it might be something we need to get more used in the decades ahead, long dry spells like this, as our climate shifts equatorward

Ruakura only got 5.2mm yesterday. So unless gets more by Saturday will end up with 7mm for the month, making it the 6th driest month of the 1200+ on record. And Jan plus Feb will be driest, beating 1908 by 1mm.
