i could actualy here some thunder....it will be that nice looking cb that you photographed ricky earlier on

Well, we got a thunderstorm through Tauranga at about 4.30pm this afternoon.

I think I actually managed to get a little lightning on digital video too! I'll have to find the time to pull it off and hopefully will post it at a later date (There would have been more if I'd had my tripod, and I'd been pointing the right direction).

Reports South of Tauranga of good sized hail and Ahem.. "Minature Tornado's"!

It certainly was quite an active storm, very warm prior and very heavy cold rain and a good temperature drop.

that cb on sunset last nite,that gave a good lightning show last night (and the one ricky took a photo of too) (with my new camera i got for my birthday the other day (HP photosmart R507)

I finally got around to looking at that video tape and grabbed a couple of events off it. Only one of them was any good and unfortunately I only got a small portion of it. Why does it always strike in the direction you aren't filming. Murphy also got me by having the worst of it go overhead whilst I was stuck on the phone.

The real player version is just under 1.5 Meg, the Windows Media Viewer version is about 4.2 Megs and the DVD quality MPEG2 is just under 60 Meg!

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere I can upload them to. If anyone is interested in seeing either of the two smaller versions I'd be happy to e-mail them. Send a message to "My Username Here" at Xtra dot co dot nz.
