Snowing here with some large flakes for a while around 7am when I went and got the paper in, however easing later in the morning with about a centimetre falling here. Snow gone by just after noon except for small patches. Now clearing up from the south.
Our backyard at 7am this morning.

Been snowing on and off in Hanmer today, only settling higher up. Lewis Pass was closed earlier.

If not for COVID I would have been there on Friday this week to run the 100 Miler Great Naseby Water Race. That would have been fun in that!

That may well have been the last chance to get snow on the ground here, looking likely it could be 5 years in a row snow free, remembering I'm at 243m above sea level.

Its been 3 years here. The day my youngest boy was born, it snowed from midnight to around 4am. There was enough settled on our front yard at 9m asl to build a small snowman to stick on top of the trampoline and I remember driving home from Lincoln with it fair dumping down in the middle of the night.

Good times
