El Nino on the way?

Unread post by TonyT »

As we know the CFSv2 scored quite the coup back in February this year when it predicted a La Nina event for this spring when no other models were seeing a colder equatorial Pacific. As I have shown in my livestreams this matches with the expected pattern at the trough of a solar cycle.

Now the CFS is backing the current Nina to fade over the late summer and be replaced by an El Nino by June 2021. I will note that this also corresponds with what is expected from the ramping up of the new solar cycle 25, which NOAA/NASA declared to have started in a press release today. Many of our strongest Ninos have occurred in the early upswing of a new solar cycle.
