Fairly hot in Lyttelton at between the strong NW gusts, looks like cloud is building to the south but I'm not expecting much up here.

Southerly through here at 5.37pm, with associated temperature drop and now low stratus covering the sky. All over bar the shouting. :-(

Rain starting in Woolston from heavy-looking clouds in an awesome sky, some tiny red dots in the radar signature. Muggy.

Just rain, but again very welcome in the garden. Temperature dropped 24C to 14C in about half an hour.

8.0mm here for the event (although it appears some PWS's nearer our SW coasts got up to twice that).

MS had 10mm for both Akld Aero and Whangaparaoa, and 5mm for Whenuapai.
