sorry didnt got back far enough, from the 1st Feb I recounted many many times and got 53 sub zero temps

Yes, 53 days if you're using midnight reset times, or 54 days using standard 9am reset times.

Thanks Gentlemen. The average annual number of frost days for Tiverton is 40 and for my old stamping ground of Milton Keynes it is approx. 50-52.
So MK roughly the same as for your part of NZ, but somewhat less here in the SW of England.
Would you expect there to be any more in 2020?

Thinking there might be a bit of left over onshore cloud after that southerly change, unlike when there's more a dying SW that tends to clear the skies.

One single pumpkin plant had damage this morning even though it got down to 2.5 deg.
