yes and a much more consistent heat too. Ive got to know a hobby plant breeder quite well in Missouri who's been sharing some of his sweet potato seed with me, the comparable growing conditions are so different to here, his hottest daily max temps are around 35C but his coldest summer days are around 25C.

First time I've ever seen a 56C forecast in my life, it's not like the NWS to exaggerate either in their forecasts

That heat is very extreme, Las Vegas being the closest city have forecasted highs of 46c, 115F!

Heads up, not graphic, but tragically this video shows a vehicle being thrown, a 73 year old man lost his life. He was driving a SUV with a trailer carrying a car behind it.

Texas, Oklahoma etc have just had major troubles with Ice build up on structures. Several important radio/TV towers of the 1000' type have collapsed when several inches of Ice build up on them.
