Masterton F/C 17th October 2004

Unread post by 03Stormchaser »

I have uploaded about half a dozen images of a funnel cloud that formed over Masterton on the 17th of Oct 2004, photo taken by David Cameron.

I first saw one of these photos the net and managed to get hold of David who kindly sent them through to me. Enjoy :)

Thanks for putting those up Steve.

The funnel looks to be of the 'landspout' type. Sounding for that day shows light easterly with cold unstable conditions. Good funnel cloud conditions as winds were not very strong.

Nice photo's, thanks Steve.

Was a mostly fine day over the North Island that day with one or two cloud build ups.
