discovered this morning that where i was milking cows yesterday, a haybarn lost its roof not far from the cowshed....i thought it was getting a tad windy...the car sure was rocking, with the rain coing off in a big sheet of spray.....and before that the power was off and the poor power board was working on a pole nearby......the hayshed was pretty rusty though, and i am surprised it had not lost its roof before now
150kmh was the max gust recorded at tiri tiri
the winds were strongest in that north auckland area,.....i wonder why
considering the baro was only 985 at cook straight,....there must have been a
zone of tight packed isobard in this area....or maybe it was just a momentum thing/low struggling to cross central nz/wind all forced up this way/sort of thing
