Re: General March Weather
Models suggest a hint of instability around Canterbury plains tomorrow evening. One to watch with a cold pool crossing in the evening.

Re: General April Weather
A spell of moderate rain here this afternoon, clearing conditions from late afternoon. 6mm here. Convergence has come to life with heavy shower lines to the north of the city and in the Hauraki Gulf this evening but all slowly moving away to the east.

Yes, observed quite a bit of thunder and lightning around eastern Waiheke and the Coromandel from about midnight last night.
Over 17mm here (sometimes heavy) in the last 18 hours or so.

Re: General April Weather
Well, the few spits of rain from the clagg from the southerly change, developed into a quite substantial rainfall for today with 16.5mm recorded.
After a warmish morning, the grey skies of the afternoon developed into a cooling of the temperatures to the low teens from today's maximum of 22C.
10C at 10pm.

Re: General April Weather
Could be good April again this year now that the last months of La Nina have gone delivering all that wet weather over the North Island.spwill wrote: βMon 03/04/2023 22:24We had a good April here last year under La Nina, the average maximum at Mangere was 21.9C-min 13.5C, 193hrs sunshine , 23mm of rain.NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote: βMon 03/04/2023 17:53 Hooray. Might be an interesting spring here if El Nino develops?

Re: General April Weather
April can be a boring weather month. There might be some interesting weather early-mid next week with a big Tasman system in the modelling, see how this looks in a couple of days.NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote: βTue 04/04/2023 17:56Could be good April again this year now that the last months of La Nina have gone delivering all that wet weather over the North Island.

Re: General April Weather
Looking at Easter weather for Auckland, some rain spreads down from the north this afternoon/ evening. There has been a lot of model variation for Friday and Saturday, currently EC suggests a mainly dry Friday with a few showers Saturday , GFS mainly dry both days. Sunday mainly dry but both models bring rain and thunderstorms into Auckland late Sunday. Easter Monday is mainly fine and humid but with isolated afternoon showers/possible thunderstorm.
