No, these are June/July level temps.
Its looking like the rest of the month is going to be no warmer either. Will it end up being a record or near record low temp month?

I’m thinking we are going for record or near record cold myself, though nighttime temps wont be as cold next week

No, these are June/July level temps.
Its looking like the rest of the month is going to be no warmer either. Will it end up being a record or near record low temp month?

It’s the trend lately for these temps to be heading down, as a matter of interest what’s the lowest minimum and maximum temp you have recorded over the years Richard? Yep I reckon based on the next 10 day forecast it will end up being one of the top 5 coldest May’s at least on record at the Chch Airport site…

Frost here early this morning but high cloud cover moved in from the south around dawn. White on lawns and rooves. Down to minus 1.5C.

Got down to -1C this morning, but has warmed to a reasonably warm day for recently.

-2.5C at the airport, and certainly felt that cold where i am this morning, cars frosted over, and was reforming after defrosting it.

Only minus 2.7C on th 10th as the frost went off early. There were traces of frost around the woodshed early this afternoon.

Interesting how this mornings frost temps have fluctuated since reaching its lowest point at 2.20am of -3.8deg, then slowly climbing to -0.9 at 7.00am, Clearly warmer air aloft started passing over early morning as there is no wind at ground level.

some light cloud in the west obscured my view of today's 6:35am satellite train;
-0.3°C at the moment with light cloud, faint sun.

Nearly down to -4C last night in christchurch, the lowest hourly temperature was -3.7C, and most stuff frosted over

No frost,but got continuously worse as I headed towards Christchurch.
