Question re the above video: does anyone know the model of the car at the left of the image in the opening scene?

I thought it was an Austin A30, others think it's an A35.

Would welcome opinions :D

Could be an Austin A30. :-k We used to refer them as Baby Austins because of their smallness.

Hard to tell from that video, but the Austin A35 has a bigger rear widow than the original A30. The A30 also had the distinctive flag indicators that popped out from the side door pillars, which was an endless source of amusement for us as kids. My grandfather had a 2-door A30, which he customised by gold-leafing the grill.

Visited Ashburton Museum this evening to view this exhibition:

Ashburton Museum: 150 years of Ashburton District Railway

and to hear a speaker on this topic:

Ashburton Museum: Great Southern Railway history talk

- both were very interesting and there was a good crowd to hear the speaker.
