TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN

BY THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CENTRE PERTH

Tropical Cyclone Floyd [Severity Category 1] was located at 8am WST Tuesday near
12.1S 116.3E, that is 915 kilometres northwest of Broome and moving southwest at
5 kilometres per hour. The cyclone is not expected to affect the coast within
the next 48 hours.

The next advice will be issued at 3am Tuesday

HIGH SEAS WEATHER WARNING FOR METAREA 10 ISSUED BY THE
AUSTRALIAN BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING
CENTRE PERTH AT 0046UTC 21 MARCH 2006

GALE WARNING FOR THE WESTERN AREA

Please be aware, wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the
averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.

SITUATION
At 0000UTC Tropical Cyclone Floyd located within 30 nautical miles of
Latitude twelve decimal one South [12.1S]
Longitude one hundred and sixteen decimal three East [116.3E]
Recent movement : SW at 3 knots.
Maximum winds : 35 knots.
Central pressure : 990 hPa.


AREA AFFECTED
Within 90 nautical miles of the centre.


FORECAST
Winds 30/35 knots increasing to 35/45 knots by 22/0000UTC, with rough to very
rough seas and moderate increasing swell.

At 1200UTC 21 March: 12.2 south 115.6 east
Central pressure 988 hPa.
Winds to 40 knots near centre.
At 0000UTC 22 March: 12.5 south 113.8 east
Central pressure 984 hPa.
Winds to 45 knots near centre.

Next warning issued by 0700 UTC 21 March 2006.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Floyd [Severity Category 4] was located at 8am WST
Friday near 15.2S 108.1E, that is 980 kilometres
northwest of Exmouth, and moving south southwest at 15 kilometres per hour. The
cyclone is not expected to affect the coast within the next 48 hours.

The next advice will be issued at 3pm WST Friday.

floyd is weakening but still cat 3 first cyclone advice is out

TROPICAL CYCLONE ADVICE NUMBER 1
Issued at 6:05 pm WST on Saturday, 25 March 2006
BY THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CENTRE PERTH

A CYCLONE WATCH for a SEVERE CATEGORY 3 CYCLONE is now current for coastal
areas between Mardie and Carnarvon.

At 5pm WST SEVERE TROPICAL CYCLONE FLOYD was estimated to be
510 kilometres northwest of Exmouth and
770 kilometres north north west of Carnarvon
and was moving east southeast at 18 kilometres per hour.

SEVERE TROPICAL CYCLONE FLOYD is expected to continue to weaken as it moves
towards the Pilbara coast. Gales are not expected in coastal communities in the
next 24 hours, but may develop within 48 hours if the system does not weaken
sufficiently prior to crossing the Pilbara coastline.

Details of SEVERE TROPICAL CYCLONE FLOYD at 5pm WST.

Location of centre : within 45 kilometres of
Latitude 18.5 South Longitude 110.8 East.
Recent movement : East southeast at 18 kilometres per hour.
Central Pressure : 955 hPa.
Maximum wind gusts : 205 kilometres per hour near the centre.
Severity category : 3.

The next warning will be issued at 9pm.

The next Invest looks more severe and a threat to WA than Floyd :-k

I was actually refering to the Invest, (what ever No it was) which is now TC Glenda.
Watch out Perth and cities and towns along the Indian Ocean west coast of WA..
