HIGH SEAS WEATHER WARNING FOR METAREA 10 ISSUED BY THE
AUSTRALIAN BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING
CENTRE PERTH AT 0320UTC 4 APRIL 2006

GALE WARNING FOR THE WESTERN AREA

Please be aware, wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the
averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.

SITUATION
At 0300UTC tropical low located within 15 nautical miles of
Latitude thirteen decimal nine degrees South [13.9S]
Longitude one hundred and fourteen decimal eight degrees East [114.8E]
Recent movement : nearly stationary.
Maximum winds : 25 knots.
Central pressure: 998hPa.

AREA AFFECTED
Within 70 nautical miles of the centre extending to within 100 nautical miles in
western quadrants.


FORECAST
Low may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 18 to 24 hours
causing clockwise winds 30/40 knots, rough to very rough seas and
moderate swell.


At 1800 UTC 04 April: Within 50 nautical miles of 15.0 South 115.0 East
Central pressure 994 hPa.
Winds to 30 knots near centre.
At 0600 UTC 05 April: Within 90 nautical miles of 16.0 South 115.5 East
Central pressure 988 hPa.
Winds to 40 knots near centre.

I think this will turn to crap ...but there is another one in behind this which will move out to sea and only pose a danger to shipping.

Latitude fifteen decimal five degrees South [15.5S]
Longitude one hundred and sixteen decimal five degrees East [116.5E]
Recent movement : slowly south southeast.
Maximum winds : 30 knots.
Central pressure: 994hPa.
Note: The low is expected to move towards the south or southwest once it has
developed further.


AREA AFFECTED
Within 90 nautical miles of the centre.


FORECAST
Low may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 6 to 18 hours
causing clockwise winds 30/40 knots, rough to very rough seas and
moderate swell. Winds increasing to 45 knots near the centre by 0000 UTC 6 April



At 1200 UTC 05 April: Within 55 nautical miles of 16.4 South 116.3 East
Central pressure 988 hPa.
Winds to 35 knots near centre.
At 0000 UTC 06 April: Within 85 nautical miles of 17.4 South 115.3 East
Central pressure 982 hPa.
Winds to 45 knots near centre.

Issued at 9:00 pm WST on Wednesday, 5 April 2006
BY THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CENTRE PERTH

Tropical cyclone Hubert [Severity Category 1] was located at 8 pm near 17.0S
116.3E, that is 420 kilometres north of Karratha and 600 kilometres north
northeast of Exmouth moving south southwest at 15 kilometres per hour. The
cyclone is not expected to affect the coast within the next 48 hours.

The next advice will be issued at 3am Thursday.

Issued at 3:10 am WST on Thursday, 6 April 2006
BY THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CENTRE PERTH

A CYCLONE WATCH is now current for a category 1 cyclone for the coastal areas
between Mardie and Coral Bay.

At 2:00 am WST Tropical Cyclone HUBERT was estimated to be
390 kilometres north northwest of Karratha and
535 kilometres north northeast of Exmouth and
moving south southwest at 13 kilometres per hour.

Gales are not expected to develop in coastal areas today but gales could develop
later on Friday as the cyclone moves further to the south southwest.

Details of Tropical Cyclone Hubert at 2:00 am WST.
Location of centre : within 70 kilometres of
Latitude 17.4 South Longitude 115.8 East.
Recent movement : South southwest at 13 kilometres per hour.
Central Pressure : 988 hPa.
Maximum wind gusts : 90 kilometres per hour near the centre.
Severity category : 1.

I just clocked in to ask if there was a sign of anything building and blow me, it's blowing you.

Anyone here from "Striya"?
Just wondering if you get them locusts every time a cyclone comes in or is it on some other cycle?

Issued at 5:45 pm WST on Thursday, 6 April 2006
BY THE BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CENTRE PERTH

A CYCLONE WARNING is now current for a CATEGORY 2 CYCLONE for the coastal areas
between Roebourne and Exmouth. A CYCLONE WATCH extends to adjacent inland parts
of the Pilbara and coastal areas between Exmouth and Minilya Roadhouse.

At 5:00pm WST TROPICAL CYCLONE HUBERT was estimated to be
280 kilometres north northwest of Karratha and
340 kilometres north of Onslow and
moving south southwest at 12 kilometres per hour.

Gales are not expected to develop in coastal areas tonight but gales may develop
during Friday as the cyclone moves closer to the coast. Heavy rainfall is likely
in coastal parts of the west Pilbara during Friday, but is not expected to
extend very far inland.

Details of Tropical Cyclone Hubert at 5:00 pm WST.
Location of centre : within 70 kilometres of
Latitude 18.6 South Longitude 115.4 East.
Recent movement : South southwest at 12 kilometres per hour.
Central Pressure : 978 hPa.
Maximum wind gusts : 130 kilometres per hour near the centre.
Severity category : 2.

The next advice will be issued at 9pm WST.

FESA-State Emergency Service advises of the following community alerts:
BLUE ALERT: People in or near the communities of Karratha, Roebourne, Point
Samson, Wickham, Dampier, Pannawonica, Onslow, Exmouth and Mardie should begin
taking precautions.

Communities between Roebourne and Minilya Roadhouse should listen for the next
advice.
