Hamilton Boltek installed, online!
wahoooo! yeah! soo much thanks to Ricky for coming down today and helping (well everything pretty much!) chuck that boltek on the top of the pole here.
http://www.hamiltonweather.co.nz/ and hit stormvue live
Just got the screen image grab at the moment up there, getting that java applet to run will be next..
Still have to play with the ranging settings.. will take a while, can't WAIT for some upper NI storms now.. the triangulation with ricky's boltek should be excellent
Thanks to Steven Graham also for the maps.
Cheers

Of course, you are aware of the Murphy's Law of Weather Instruments, right? The one which states that once a new weather station is installed, the site it is installed at shall have a long period of the most boring weather ever experienced there? It never fails, trust me.

sensational website there foggy, its the best 'local weather' site i have seen thats for sure.
And yes mondee/tuesdee next week should test your gear.....
models are showing an almost exact situation to the last low we had. This will no doubt be followed by a spell of much colder weather.
So let me get this right, hamilton now has the following:-
1) V8 supercars
2) WRC rally and special stages
3) 2010 Rowing world champs
4) One helluva nice river
5) Great local weather website
6) The highest occurance of Chlamydia
7) The best type 1 soils in NZ
Firecats
what more do you need eh?

That's allowed me to include the detector in the correlation system. You should see the results here: http://www.templeton.gen.nz/weather/SVcorrelated.htmlFoggy Hamilton wrote:got the java viewer running now..
... if there was anything happening, of course
I've started work on a new system which should give better correlation and triangulation results especially for shorter distances between detectors.

I still plan to get one for Benmore Peak. At 1,894m it should provide at least some West Coast coverage. Heck, I can almost see the West Coast from the top of Benmore!NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote:Where else do we need a Boltek?
Do we seem to have the country covered?
Maybe BlueSkies should buy one and ...stick it up on the West Coast somewhere???
