Auckland - interesting 5 July

Unread post by GraemeWi »

Earlier today we had some spectacular fog roll in, and under the smog layer it was very photogenic (will post a picture when I get home tonight)

Right now at midday there is some interesting looking convection around with Tcu and quite a lot of sheer. Could get interesting later on?

Over the city area it looks pretty flat at the moment, the interesting looking Tcu was off to the north east a bit. Will keep an eye out as I work ;)

yes some good wintry buildups today, think there must be some instability about.

cant get a decent sounding at the mo so cant see where the tops are at.

there is a low t/s risk too, so we should at least get some afternoon precipitation.

hope everyone is well, i have been in the south island working on a goldmine project (wankers!! - the gold miners that is) so have been slack on the post front

A dry mild sunny day across the Auckland region.

I see the Airport had Fog up to Lunch time, no fog here at all.

What a superb pic mate, beautiful photo there :D, weather forecasting in NZ has a long way to go as they said it would be showery and cloudy in Auckland today, the photo says otherwise ! :) ;)

Looks to be some Thunderstorms just west of Northland this afternoon.

A mostly dry overcast day here so far, currently 14C , dewpoints up to 10C, higher than off late.

Looks like Heavy showers on the way
