Oh, Thanks Ricky. I hate how these storms have a mind of their own, they are north east of us moving south south-east in a NE wind....strange eh? They should be coming towards usricky wrote:The Web host has gone down... typical just when theres some action!...Cameo1 wrote:whats wrong with the Auk lightning tracker?

Yeah saw a couple of anvil crawlers. Mostly hidden. Don't know their general direction though, they keep forming and reforming. I was at the park getting a view (in the middle of a field!) And I was worried that a thunderhead would open up above me. So I came home lol. This event has to be some sort of thunderstorm record for Auk, surely?ricky wrote:All back and working now yes I was driving back from the North Shore and saw some great C-Cs across the harbour! Some may yet make it across the city... time to go outside for a spa

Yep, 03, totally agree! All those storms are screaming to be CHASED! Poor things! They'll be feeling unappreciated....03Stormchaser wrote:Thats the best reason I could ever have read to stay!!Cameo1 wrote: I was at the park getting a view (in the middle of a field!) hi
have been away, school holidays, took the kids on holiday
was up at coromandel township, visiting the driving creek railway (great !) and i noticed this finger funnel cloud developing....but it did not develop any more, from a CB just north of waiheke island area....the rain free base area had all this rapidly changing hanging down cloud area (wall lcloud),and the finder funnel (start of a tornado) developed there...you can just make it out in the zoomed in a bit photo
this was on wedensday
sorry not a better photo (only 4.1m pixels)
