Stunning Winds here in Dunedin
Hey all,
Not sure who else is getting these, but here on the Otago Peninsula we are getting some spectacluar winds, not to mention some very nice small water spouts.
Here's port otago wind readings FYI.

Couple this with high tide and we have a very wet portobello Road.
Now - where is the rest of our washing line, better visit the neighbour later.

Company Bay.
Amazing microclimate here. 500m back towards town and there can be little or no wind.
Our special little spot gets the wind funneled direct from the south west. Dear old McAndrew bay can often be dead still.
Cool, hail has just started here.

It's annoying that the WM-918 only samples every two seconds. I reckon I miss a lot more. 65kph is strong but I would swear it was stronger than that.GSVNoFixedAbode wrote:And on the other side of Otago harbour, we also got the odd zepher:

Don't believe itkiwisk8er wrote:I checked my weather station and yesterday afternoon at 4.45 pm it claimed there was a wind speed of 156.7 km/hour. We are based in Musselburgh/Tainui. I don't know whether or not to believe it.
There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
