Cyclone warning

Unread post by Razor »

Is this unusual for this time of year? Once the ice bergs get up there it'll be sorted haha

Weather authorities are warning an early season cyclone may be forming north of New Zealand.

The US Joint Typhoon Warning Center has warned "a significant tropical cyclone is possible" within the next six to 24 hours over the waters south of the Solomon Islands.

The system has yet to get a name but the center has upgraded its warning on it.

Most tropical cyclones that hit New Zealand are usually formed in the region around the Solomons-Coral Sea area, although many do not develop to be a major threat.

The Nadi Tropical Cyclone Centre in Fiji posted an alert to shipping over the storm.
