Was very busy all day but looked up in time to see this at around 3.40pm... kept a few of us entertained for a while

Excellent capture.
Not in Auckland today but I'm guessing the colder easterly arriving over the warmed land helped produce those shallow Cu build ups.

We had clouds like that around the Canterbury plains today but nothing that spawned or would spawn a funnel
It is what I call the "1040hPa" scenario rather than a 1030hPa one

I actually never really saw much of the day today lol
I started a new job of mine today and was inside a building most of the day haha, but sure did warm up inside after this morning. And looked nice outside.
Dont worry we will get plenty of those cloud formations especially in Canterbury storm season 07/08 bring it on! gona be a ripppppper

i missed this thread
we got a line of heavy rain here too from a similar cloud line
looked very unstable in the lower portion of the cloud, and I would not have been surprised to see a funnel cloud in this area too at the same time!
good stuff
